For the past few weeks, Lil Chandra has wandered the house singing under her breath, “We don’t talk about Bruno, no no.” This in and of itself is not that interesting, since at any given time ~35% children aged eight and under are singing songs from Encanto.
What is mildly interesting is that she hasn’t seen Encanto yet.
First, it’s important to trace the crime. Lil Chandra, who will apparently narc on a fellow student at the slightest provocation, fessed up that “Elspeth” was singing it all the time at daycare. This is a useful reminder that over 70% of their conscious life is spent outside of your line of sight (school, aftercare, sports teams etc.). We control very little, we hopefully equip them for success but we can’t roll their proficiency checks for them, to mix my metaphors slightly.
The song is pretty good tho.
hol up, “elspeth”. i’m 33/33/34 between mispronounciation/actual super nerd parent/familycodename
inquiring minds must now
