Had a very messy draft where I did the opposite of “try to lock in one color to maximize flexibility in subsequent packs” and had a bit of an Abzan stew. Got passed Toren in pack 2 and then forced GW despite a hilariously open UW spirits deck being opened at the table.

It isn’t an exaggeration to say that this doesn’t look great. GW isn’t really where you want to be in this set, as Training sort of missed. But I was proud of steering into some ad-hoc tiny pockets of synergy.

This turned out to be a spicy little combo for me. With Torens out, casting one creature spell creates another creature. This double-triggers both Dawnheart Disciple and Nurturing presence. These allowed enough big creatures to actually enable aggressive attacks that turn all those 1/1s into 2/2s. Despite having next to no interaction, this deck just asked One Big Question. And nobody could answer it.
Abzan?
