I’ve really been enjoying this format. I agree that the prevalence of Organ Hoarder and the Diregraf Horde is a bit much at common, but it’s a great contest between the flashback/disturb of the control decks versus the aggression of the other decks.
draft

Interesting P1p1. I think it came down to the gold Grafkeeper. Then some powerful blue only to turn into a potential P1p4 Morbid Opportunist, which I will gladly take to move into black. The draft shallowed out a little and then I opened a bomb in pack 2. And I panicked.

I should have just taken it! Why NOT take it?! What was I taking over it, a mediocre blue common? The struggle was that it felt like blue was open in pack 1 and my odds of playing it were low. But I still had five solidly playable BW cards, I probably could have eked it out. Especially since passing it would probably turn my neighbor into a BW drafting, cutting me somewhat. But I stuck to my guns and ended up in this weird UB… Spirits… thing.

It’s a little weird having Spirits with the usual UB package, so my optimism was not great. Which naturally led to a 3-0/6-0 thumping. I know nothing about Magic.
re “prevalence of Organ Hoarder and the Diregraf Horde”: srsly, thumbs down wizards
re format: this format forced me to tighten up my play to get to the winrate i was at in afr. pretty solid demonstration of skill matters and that expert is different form core. thumbs up wizards
