Dark confession time: COVID-19 has lured me into getting into K-pop. A good overview article lured me, and let’s be honest, I’ve always been K-pop-curious. There’s also a decent chance that the Benalish Momma made an ill-thought out desire, “I wish he would stop listening to that stupid orchestrated video game music.”

Draft log

Pretty easy Basri’s Lieutenant in P1p1. Such a good teacher, arguably his Acolyte has surpassed him. Then the draft rapidly went YOLO when I tried to pull off (and wheeled) double Griffin Aerie while ALSO identifying blue as the open lane. Immediately punished by opening a P2p1 Sublime Epiphany I gritted my teeth and tried to find enough lifegain triggers to get there. Reader, I did not.
Summary

Pretty medium deck, with some fun potential mini-synergies but nothing good enough to justify putting swamps into an M21 deck. Round one was facing a much… better BW deck (with Vito and Tempered Veteran, doing work in a slow match up). However it ground out two wins with small synergies mostly centered around spewing zombies with the Liliana’s Devotee.

Which is funny, because there are virtually no multi-colored cards in the set. I think it’s a flavor thing, since Basri escape Amonkhet and the evil, Nicol-Bolasian gods (all of whom were multi-colored)
