I don’t love that Arena automatically gives tells when oppo has an something they can do at instant speed. But it’s available and I’d be a fool not to use it. Oppo has something at instant speed and this is the second round of attacking into my 4/4 (my 2/2 traded with their 2/2 last turn). What’s the play?

  • Block the 3/2 with either of my smaller creatures
  • Force the trick by blocking their 2/4 with my 4/4
  • Take the damage, there’s still time.

This Turn

While the Darling of the Masses churning out 1/1s is irksome, it’s important to realize that there’s no rush. If absolutely necessary, I can use the Light em Up, sack a creature, and get ride of their Darling (not a great line, but a comforting backstop). There’s not that much damage coming at my, time is on my side.

What’s odd is that opponent is *not* attacking with the 2/1 Citizens. They’re just as good with a trick in hand, so I would have been applying additional pressure to me and forcing me. But they didn’t, I topdecked a Gathering Throng (gathering three more Throngs), stabilized and won handily,
