Started off with a trophy, which means it’s guaranteed to only get worse. But on the other hand, I’m guaranteed to play more magic. And it’s certainly better than trying to dig out from under a 30% win rate in M21. Onward!
Draft log

Interesting P1p1. The gold rare looks like a flexible 3/3 that grows and then spawns an x/x upon death. I think the sheer power level puts it above the flip-land. Now I’m still doing my homework on drafting: picking the highest power level card as well as the best “fit”.
Nothing in green or black worth considering. So a pretty good UR or a solid white card? I speculated on the gold, this could be wrong.
Flip land is a clear leader in powerful and works nicely with the Mystic. I do love Subtle Strike through.
Veered back into black here, as the pretty efficient removal is narrowly better than the falcon. A close pick to be sure.
Synchronized Spellcraft is the only red card in the pack, which doesn’t feel great. But it is reasonable 5-mana removal, so I take it.
Ahhh, this feels better. I take the flip land with glee.
From there I nestle into UR spells pretty easily.
Summary

So UR wizards… but definitely more controlling (and lacking some of the pieces to control). It could win when the oppo was slow enough to assemble the air force and lost when it didn’t. Felt like it overperformed a little at 2-1 but sometimes you get the good half of luck.
Interesting Moments
pack 3 pick 1
This was a tough call. At the time I only had four kicker spells, so my hit percentage on the Chronicler wasn’t great. But the power of the 2:1 probably should have taken it? I don’t know the right choice here. A tough one.
