Final homework assignment! And mostly because Zendikar spoilers are falling so I drool I DROOL. There’s a new dual-land! And D&D mechanics! And flip lands/spells! And Landfall! I’d babble more about the new type of dual-land, but that deserves its own post.
Draft log

I think this is a P1p1 that defines the set. Pretty much anywhere else I slam the efficient removal of Eliminate and don’t look anywhere else. But black is just weak enough, and Feat of Resistance is just strong enough, that I take the feat. Plus, only jerks play swamps. It was true in 8th grade and true today.
Ended pack one with a good base in white and possibilities in blue or black. Opening a Silversmote Ghoul gave a big nudge to black, as well as a late Deathbloom Thallid and late P3p6 Liliana’s Devotee. Sadly lacked lifegain to make the Ghoul do anything, but seemed a solid little lane.
Summary

I would argue that there is no such thing as too many Feats. Except for Grasp of Darkness, it’s basically the only removal I have in this deck. We roared out of the gates going 2-0 in straight set wins and then stumbled horrifically in the finals against a bad UG deck. But closing out M21 by going 2-1 with an aggro deck feels quite… fitting.

called it! did i not say Zendikar time was the dnd time. I mean they talked about dnd inspiring zendikar back int he day so it’s not groundbreaking insight but still. I called it.

Yeah, Zendikar has the feeling of “everyone is a heroic adventurer!!” to it. Plus the mountains disintegrate! Finally a reason for the dungeon to collapse after killing the boss.
