Draft Log

Two powerful black cards… then Arcanist Owl. Weird draft. I guess I should have been Br-ish (the two Scorching Dragonfires in mid-pack 3 kind of hurt) but hard to see a path into that.

Deck

Well, I think I built a clumsy aggro deck but there are some powerful individual cards (Archon, Rankle, Konrad) and a Broom/Oven/Noble possibility.

Results

• Round 1 vs. UR: Lost game 1 pretty handily. Game 2 I got on the front foot (and drew Mr. Konrad) Game 3 I had Rankle, which does in fact win games.
• Round 2 vs. UR: Oppo had a bad UR deck and folded to Oathsworn Knight.
• Round 3 vs. BGr: Oppo ramped into Keeper of Fables, but I 1-2-3 curved backed up by a Pie and it was too fast. I flooded out in game 2 but got Broom/Oven/Noble online and it turns out that is GREAT when you have 8 mana. Oppo conceded once I built up to 8 brooms.

Learnings

Even though I was stretching for playables, I felt like the deck improved by having a more focused plan on aggro.
