As we approach the threshold of sending the Baby Raptor to the toddler room at daycare, we have to ‘level her up’ in various skills before she can proceed. No bottles, one nap, and napping without a sleep-sack. I have every confidence that the Raptor is up to all of these challenges, but it’s a bit daunting to have to change the groove when this groove is so damn comfortable. I might as well get used to it.

Oh and screaming 20 minutes into the nap. I am not fluent in baby, but I suspect it was along the lines of, “Where the hell is my sleep-sack?!”

Wow, that was a mess. Opened a Fight with Fire (no complaint here) and some great fixing tools and then… shrug? P2p3 Tatyova made me feel good about my core GU choice but then no power cards to take advantage of my fixing flexibility. Well, that happens sometimes.

Deck

Temur Mess

This felt as bad as it looks. Not a lot of win conditions and not a lot of sideboard flexibility (Unwind and Arcane Flight are about it). Pretty demoralizing really, but I trudged forward and ground out a few games. Didn’t even record them. Why bother?

Learnings

Well I went 3-0. What the what? I think luck had a MASSIVE amount to do with; I just faced some weak competition. Even in the finals, the deck was alright (UR non-Wizards, but had Siege-Gang Commander, Fight with Fire, Mirari Conjecture) but nothing explosive. I really just buried them under card advantage and lackluster win-conditions. Hilariously, my two game losses were from decking myself with Tatyova. Fight with Fire does some very good work and I could eventually wear them down. As bad as it looks, Jousting Lance actually turned my mediocre dudes (Baloth Gorgers) into something that can win against a clear board! Truly bizarre.

Once again, I can prove how bad I am at magic thinking a 3-0 deck is terrible. Nice.
